- Application data: jobs you apply to, saved jobs, alerts, and messages with employers.
- Employer data: company name, logo, billing details, and posted job content.
- Technical data: IP address, device, browser, pages visited, and cookie identifiers.
2. How we use your data
- Provide and personalize the AcuteJobs service.
- Match candidates with relevant jobs and enable applications.
- Send transactional emails, job alerts, and (with consent) marketing.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Lawful basis (GDPR)
We process your data based on: (a) performance of a contract (delivering the service you signed up for), (b) legitimate interests (product improvement, fraud prevention), (c) your consent (marketing, non-essential cookies), and (d) legal obligation.
4. Sharing your data
When you apply to a job, your profile and application are shared with the employer. We also use vetted processors for hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payments — all bound by data-processing agreements. We do not sell your personal information.
5. International transfers
Data may be transferred outside your country. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to safeguard your data.
6. Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active and up to 24 months after closure for legal and fraud-prevention purposes. Resumes shared with employers are governed by the employer's own policy.
7. Your rights
- Access, correct, delete, or export your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
- Californian residents: opt out of ‘sharing’ for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based access control, and continuous monitoring. No system is 100% secure — please protect your credentials.
9. Children
AcuteJobs is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

We will update this policy when practices change and notify you of material changes via email or in-product notice.
